Feline asthma

Cat litter is often blamed for this disease, but it's role is limited. The dust when breathed in can initiate symptoms in an already asthmatic cat. It cannot cause the disorder.

Eating Feces

Coprophagia  - feeding on dung (from the Collins English Dictionary).

An animal eating it's own feces, eating feces from another animal within it's own species, or feces from another species (dogs eating cat, cow, deer, rabbit, etc feces). This could also be characterized by pets eating wood, stones etc.

There is no human rational explanation as to why dogs do this.  There are many theories as to why it occurs but no dog has yet been able to give us humans a viable explanation.

One theory is that it is natural, another that it is habit forming after learning from the mother cleaning the den/nest. Alternative theory suggests it is a symptom of some other underlying problem. Chinese nutritional theory suggests that a tendency to consume rotting debris may be a sign of blood deficiency. ( Use Dematopic herbs)

Regardless of the theory, it is still disgusting for the owner and can usually be addressed by taking a few practical steps.

Diet is an obvious approach, since high fat diets tend to make the feces more palatable.

Attention to behavior may produce results with the offending dog. Ensure the feces is removed quickly.  A muzzle may also be a practical solution to the problem.

Diet is an obvious approach – high fat diets tend to make the feces more palatable.

Thus a low fat, well-digested diet is important. Secondly, attempts can be made to further reduce the palatability of the feces (where dogs eat their own or kennel partners). Add a few pineapple chunks to the diet for a number of days and let the offending dog take its pick.

Use Dermatopic herb for blood deficiency
