The Heart and magnesium

Cognitive Heart failure is where the heart fails to pump enough blood. The level of magnesium correlates with the hearts ability to pump that blood. Thus the use of magnesium supplementation has been shown in studies to stimulate the heart.

Heart Problems in Dogs & Cats

Symptoms

Coronary Heart Disease, cardiomyopathy, weak-hearted, mitral insufficiency, thickened heart muscle, heart murmur, and cough (due to blood back-up from the heart).

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) refers to the heart as the Emperor and believes that its location, around the lungs, means it can wisely rule the body with clarity. From the same perspective, if the clarity is obstructed then a heart attack is evitable.

It is the issue of obstruction which concerns us most when we refer to the heart, although when problems arise conventional medicine breaks these down into a vast array of individual problems with their own apparent solutions.

Prevention is undoubtedly the road least travelled with conventional medicine yet it appears to be the most effective. Inevitably diet is fundamental to prevention, as is exercise and lifestyle.

We have a number of herbal nutritional approaches which may contribute to he well being of the heart and blood vessels.

Diet

It is now widely accepted that changes in diet and lifestyle of humans can dramatically reduce heart disease. Reduced levels of fat and the use of vegetable oils rather than animal fats reduce cholesterol in the arteries thus preventing deposits or blockages – the clarity remains! Dairy products, eggs, cheese, fried foods and refined sugars all contribute to high cholesterol levels and impaired clarity while chicken, other white meats, fish, whole grains, green and root vegetables, and herbs all increase clarity.

Burns products contains a range of quality carbohydrates, vegetables, proteins, fats and seaweed which all contribute to promote health and vitality and at the same time allows the internal organs to function in a more efficient manner. The high quality ingredients results in smaller stools which in turn indicates ease of digestion and therefore lower levels of food are required.
